treating

if you catch the prisoner they should not get treated nicely because if your in a war you should not be treated with respect because your killing others on the filed anyway. the long term effects would be haveing a mental problem and a short term effect would be having a cut or mark.

us delectation of war

the tone of the us delectation of war was saying that it was the germans fault and they deserved us joining the war.  The biggest words were government and german so they were probably mad at the government.  the german response was stating that the us has joined the war.

video games and violence

The video game has come a long way in the past few years, but there is a debate on weather war games such as call of duty cause people to act more violent if they are played more often.  I feel that if a person were to play a war game of a game with violence in it then it would not effect how violent the person was to begin with.  People will say that children who play the games will think that if you kill someone in real life then they will come back just like in the games they play, but I feel that even though they are children they will know what is real and what is fake.  Also if you are a parent of the child you should take the time to explain that a video game is not real life and that there will be concusses if they step out of line.  Another thing is that people can make their own minds up the game will not make there more violent if you play it the person would have to had been violent to begin with.  There are plenty of people that play games such as call of duty or grand theft auto but the people that play them do not automatically turn in to a bad person, it all depends on how you were raised and if the parent took the time to explain that video games and real life are not the same things.  If you do play something such as grand theft auto you do not just go around shooting people and stealing cars because we know that if we did it in real life we would get in trouble.  Now in real life there is no reset button so if you were to get a violent tendency after playing the games you probably should not be playing them.  But I feel that even if you were to play a video game that portrayed and war scene with violence and guns does not mean the person playing it will feel like it is ok to do the same thing in real life.  Even though when playing you will yell and seem more violent its just an in the moment kind of thing but once the game is over and you turn it off you are no longer the same violent angry person you are once again a normal person.  So the video game will not cause people to go on a crazy rampage though the city and think its ok to just shoot people and steal cars because there will be a "reset" button.  People may seem mad while playing the video games but it is just like a sport if you are loosing you get mad or if you are very competitive you will get more in to it but that does not mean it makes you a violent person.

The letter

Back in world war 1 the letter was the only way to communicate to the people back home.  This could cause many problems and frustrations, such as the long process of the mail getting sent or the person could die but the person receiving the letter might believe they are still alive. The letter getting sent through the mail is a long and tedious process, it could take months back then to get a letter from the sender to the receiver.  Also in some cases the letter would get sent and the solider would die but the receiver would get it thinking the solider is still alive.

A great loss

The war that had the highest amount of deaths and wounded men was world war 1.  This most likely happened because the weapons were not as developed and the soldiers fighting in the war would run in to the battle with out thinking.  The tactic of the war at this time was to wipe out as many men at once, in doing this it cause a greater number or casualties.  By having so many deaths in one war this probably caused a population decrease.

Tweeting History

Jan 14: Reason for this glorious day postponed but will prevail and restore power to the native people.

Jan 15: I will not alter the constitution. Committee of Saftey needs to be put out, but we fear bloodshed. Will protect the people first.

Jan 16;  Truck of arms for insurgents stopped by police today. Only one injured, but distracted most from from the speach letting them know the temporary end of the monarchy

Jan 17:  To avoid any collision of armed forces and perhaps loss of life, I do, under this protest, and impelled by said forces, yield my authority until such time.

Funding Violence and the Destruction of Lives

According to the SOA "In Colombia and the Andean Region, our taxpayer money is paying to escalate a civil war, displace hundreds of thousands of civilians, strengthen a military with a horrible human rights record, damage critical bio-diversity in the Amazon basin, and more." That fact alone should be enough for the American people to up rise against the government running a terrorist group like the WHINSEC. Joseph Kennedy is mentioned as being a critic among others, but what has really been done about this group in last 59 years of its existence? After multiple investigations and public scandals (1984: CIA manual for training the Nicaraguan Contras in psychological operations was discovered; It's a big public scandal, 1988: As a result of a June Congressional hearing, prompted by allegations in the New York Times that the US had taught Honduran military officers who used torture, the HRE manual surfaces for the first time., 1991: An investigation by the DOD, and the list goes on) how is it that they still exist, or at the least have not been revamped completely? Everything the government and military does that is unethical is considered as classified for our security. The real reason for all the cover up is because they need to maintain a false trust with the American people, so they won't question what they are doing, such as killing church officials, peace group workers and civil rights members. This is easily done by the government because America is one of the most overworked countries in the world. No one has time to demand that the government make wise ethical choices, because they are too busy working (both parents mind you), raising kids, and being super consumers because that is what we are best at. There is hope with SOA out there and political opponents to WHINSEC but it will take the American people to really put this group to rest.

BED BUGS ATTACK!!!!!!!

In April of this year the New York Times printed the headline "Bed Bugs On the Rise in New York City". They began with explaining exactly how tiny these creatures are in order to give the readers that creeped out factor. You can't help but feel helpless when faced with something so tiny you may not see it. They then followed this with a reminder of the childhood rhyme "Sleep tight. Don't let the bed bugs bite.", making you wonder if they really were sharing the bed with you then. At this point they go on to explain that this terror to society was all but extinct in the U.S. for the last 40 years and asks why they came roaring back in the late 1990s. Now they speak of the EPA and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention as acknowledging that there is a problem with bed bugs and that they advise cleaning around crevices and frequent vacuuming (sounds a little bit of weak advice for a problem that is worthy of New York Times headlines).

They were making this out like an epidemic, but it was far from it. But, it made a great story from a sales point of view! Everyone is creeped out by them and even more so when an article is telling you that they can be found in a 4 star hotel room. If you owed a paper and had to choose news stories by relevance and most valuable information for your reader, bedbugs probably would not have made the cut. Pretty sure this yellow press was meant to get people into frenzy and tell all their other friends to read the article too!

Maybe Apple suggested they write it in order to sell their app Bed Bug Alert....

gaming

Gaming could potentially help others learn because in this day and age technology is becoming more and more used instead of books.  More of todays teens and younger kids are more interested in technology then a book and by people using games for learning it will hold the attention longer which means they will learn more.

six word story

what's left: new toys, children's clothes.

reconstruction and civil rights

The two different Eras were very different in the treatment of African-Americans. There was a lot more violence during the Reconstruction. While when it was the Civil Rights Era it was pretty much the opposite. African-Americans were being violent in some ways to get their freedom.

Reconstruction on former slaves

Former slaves were much better off after the Reconstruction Era rather than before the Civil War. They were better off because of how much freedom they had. Still segregated but at least they could do their own thing besides be treated like dirt. The only down side to there freedom was the rise of racism. A lot of southerners who owned these slaves before were not very happy about losing them causing them to hate all African-Americans and made a drastic rise in violence towards other races.

Souths amnesty

The south should have been granted amnesty because they just made a mistake and not everyone agreed with it.  If we did not grant the south amnesty things could have gotten worse because some people would not agree with it.

Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln did not have to worry so much about racism back in his presidency. Most of the concerns in America back in that time were making our Country the best and the only way to do that was to preserve our union. We had to get a stable start in America back then and slaves were the least of the problems.

Stereotypes in scoiety

Stereotypes are so widely known in society because when you look around even in school everyone has their own stereotype . Everyone is so opened to sharing their opinions on each other that it makes it almost impossible to not know what a or even what your stereotype is.

Thoreau

What I think Thoreau meant in this quote was that a government with few regulations will have less troubles and will have the happiest society. Happiness matters most in a society because if no one is agreeing with what is going on they will not work as hard and mostly revolt against the government. I completely agree with this statement because when you look at America compared to other countries, you see a lot less happy people and a lot more poverty in the other countries.

Tell it all

Certain pieces of history are often omitted by different countries'  because they feel they portray them in a somehwat negative or unfavoring light. Yet as we go through time all of our actions including those good and bad are the ones that shape us. If we choose not to include the negative ones then someone can never truly understand what made their country what it is today. Therefore it is unecesarry and hindering to remove select parts of history.

History Matters

History is an important part of our lives because it allows us to look back on past events which in turn allows us to learn from previous mistakes. Along with correcting mistakes however, it also allows us to improve upon future decisions based on previous events. History is inevitable and not only this but vital as without it every decision would be a blind one.
